Armentrout Funeral Home

The Armentrout Funeral Home was
opened on September 1, 2001 by
Michael "Mike" and Pamela
Armentrout. The original funeral
home location was at the corner of
E. Wapakoneta and N.
Westminster Streets in what was
first built to be the Farmers
Commercial Bank. This building
after the bank closed its doors held
every imaginable type of store and
business, from a drug store,
hardware store, library, and several
other business. The Armentrouts
started work on the project in late
May and opened for business that
following September. The funeral
home was operated at that location
until February, 2005 when the
operation was moved to its present
location at 200 E. Wapakoneta
Street. This was the original funeral
home building built around 1941
and 42 by the Weygant Family and
subsequently operated by the
McAuley Family, prior to its closing.
The funeral home building was then
used as private residence and
housed the Rice Barber Shop. It
was also used as a foster home for
boys before it was totally renovated
by the Armentrouts with the help of
a number of local residents who
volunteered their time and skills.
Since the move to the original
funeral home building, the
renovations and updates continue.
Some noticeable others behind the
scene, but all with the idea of better
serving the community. Built on the
principle of providing the best
quality services and reasonable
priced merchandise, the
Armentrout Family continues to
serve the community and its ever
changing needs.
